If you have not been admitted to the University, please contact the Office of Admissions at (989) 964-4200 BEFORE submitting an application. Applications from students not admitted to the University will not be processed.
WHAT'S YOUR CLASS STANDING?
- Freshman: 30 or fewer credits
- Sophomore: 31-61 credits
- Junior: 62-92 credits
- Senior: 93 or more credits
Applications received after posted deadlines will still be considered if funding is available.

Scholarships
Please complete your Federal Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible! Your financial need status for need-based scholarships are based on the results of your FAFSA--so you need those results to qualify! Deadlines to apply for 2012-2013 scholarships are March 26, 2012, and April 13, 2012, as indicated by the individual scholarships listed below.

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR WOMEN STUDENTS IN NEED
The Bay Area Community Foundation Women's Philanthropy Circle Fund offers assistance to women students at SVSU on an emergency basis who are having trouble meeting basic college expenses (tuition, fees, books, meal cards or other essentials). Students must be from Bay County, have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, and demonstrate a compelling need for assistance in meeting the required costs of their education in order to continue attending SVSU. To apply, submit a letter of request to Mr. Andrew J. Bethune, Executive Director, SVSU Foundation, 7400 Bay Road, University Center, MI 48710. Letters may be submitted at any time during the year when the need arises. Usual award amount is $250.

GOVERNMENT FINANCE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP: Minority student scholarship for full-time or part-time minimum junior student in Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Political Science, Economics, or Business Administration (with focus on government or nonprofit management). AAUW MIDLAND BRANCH WOMEN IN TRANSITION SCHOLARSHIP: Two $2,000 scholarships available to women returning to college to gain marketable skills or change careers. Based on combination of need, merit, and potential contribution to society. You must apply online at Midland Area Community Foundation's Website. APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 2, 2012.
ZONTA CLUB OF LAPEER AREA SCHOLARSHIP: For women living in the Lapeer area, age 21 and older, who need assistance in starting or furthering a career. Funds may be used for tuition, transportation, childcare costs and other expenses closely related to getting an education. Visit Zonta Club's Website for more information. APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 16, 2012.
BETA SIGMA PI OF SAGINAW EDUCATION AWARD: For women students attending a Saginaw County school qualified for admission to Saginaw Valley State University with financial need. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and enroll full-time. A one-page essay on why applicant deserves the award and three letters of recommendation are required.
